How wonderful to see some of our children feature in this video.

A Journey Through Advent

Things are very different this year and we cannot celebrate the season of Advent as we have done in previous years but we can still embrace the hope, love, joy and peace that this time brings.

This page will be updated on a regular basis with ideas for prayers, reflections and activities.  We would love you to join us as we journey though Advent and we hope that this pages helps you as you wait in joyful anticipation for the coming of our Saviour.

This video gives a short explanation about Advent and really helps us to focus on the purpose of the season.

Across the school we have embraced Advent. Here are some images of the beautiful displays and wreaths.

Advent in 2 Minutes

Week 1

As we light our first candle we reflect on the hope that the season of Advent brings.

Week 2
This week, as we light the second candle on our wreath, we reflect on the everlasting love that Jesus gives.  As we prepare for the arrival of Christ our Saviour we have shared this beautiful song which really emphasises this message.  Across the school we have been thinking about how we can show love to the people in our own lives.

Love Shone Down by Boyce & Stanley

Pause for Prayer- use this lovely resource from the SYMT to make some time for prayer each day

Do you have a nativity scene at home? If not then consider making your own.

Week 3
This week, as we light the third candle on our Advent wreath, we reflect on the joy that Jesus brings into our lives each and every single day.  In our assemblies this week we are going to reflect upon how we can share this joy with the special people in our lives. Advent is a time of joyful preparation, this week we are going to prepare ourselves by sharing the joy of Jesus.  Maybe you could take time this week to pause for prayer. This lovely resource from the Shrewsbury Youth Mission contains prayers and reflections that focus on the joy of Christ entering our world.
