Week 10

This week we are learning about the Anglo-Saxons and religion. Read through the Anglo-Saxon Christianity lesson sheet and then complete the question sheet. Choose between *, ** or ***. Each extra * means more challenge!

You can then complete Task 2 (drawing or colouring). You can find details on the lesson sheet.

Week 9

This week we are going to be thinking as archaeologists and historians. You will be learning about a very important discovery that was made in 1939.  You will examine objects found at this discovery to think about what they tell us about life and culture in Anglo-Saxon times.

1.  Read through the sheet 'Lesson Week 9' to learn about the discovery.

2.  Use the 'Answer Grid' sheet to think about some of the objects found. If you are not sure, have a guess!

3.  Look at the 'Answer Sheet' for information about the objects and who the person may have been.

4. Look at the Power Point and the link to the British Museum for more information and more pictures of the treasures found at Sutton Hoo.

Week 8 - to understand about how Anglo-Saxon Britain was ruled and to know about Anglo-Saxon law and order.

 

This week we will be looking at how Anglo-Saxon Britain was ruled. 

You will then find out about how Anglo-Saxons kept law and order.

 

1. Read through the information sheet.

2. Answer the questions on the information sheet.

3. Create a poster or leaflet that explains all about Anglo-Saxon law and order. Remember to include pictures.

Week 7 - To understand how the Anglo-Saxons have influenced Britain by explaining some of the place names they established and their meanings.

Another Free Geography Fieldwork Lesson! 

 

On Thursday 30th April at 10:30am, FSC are streaming another free live lesson with an expert tutor. This an excellent opportunity for children to explore geography fieldwork, get outside and have fun! Thursday's live lesson will encourage the children to explore microhabitats in their own gardens.

This week we would like you to complete a KWL on our new topic the Anglo-Saxons

You can draw this into your exercise book; it does not need to be printed and stuck in. 

 

1) What do you already know about the Anglo-Saxons? 

2) What do you want to find out about the Anglo-Saxons? Write as many questions as you can think of! 

3) Leave the final column blank for now as we will fill this in when we complete the topic!

 

Challenge 

When you finish your KWL choose 2 (or more!) of your questions and research them. 

What can you find out? You can choose how to present your findings (a written paragraph, poster, presentation etc.)
