Physical Education

In partnership with Essential, and LFC, our PE lessons look to develop children is a wide range of sporting disciplines and physical skill. The programme encourages the development of skills and understanding in six specified areas - games, gymnastics, dance, athletics, swimming and outdoor and adventurous activities. Each lesson focuses on the child being physically active and on the importance of fair play and safety.

Children learn a range of sporting disciplines at St Joseph’s including athletics, archery, orienteering, netball, tennis and hockey. In these lessons, they learn the rules for the game as well as developing the skill and knowledge required to play the sport.

Children have opportunities to take part in extra-curricular sporting clubs after school to develop their sporting skills further.  Children also have the opportunity to take part in competitions and tournaments.
