Welcome to St Joseph’s
Thank you for showing an interest in our school website. I am delighted to have the privilege of being the Headteacher here at St Joseph's at what continues to be a busy and exciting time of change and transformation.
Here at St Joseph’s, we provide an inclusive Catholic education for all our children. This means that, as well as teaching the National Curriculum and having extremely high academic expectations for all our pupils, the teachings and example of Jesus permeate all that we do. We are guided and influenced by the teachings of the Catholic Church and we recognise the uniqueness of each individual, made and formed in the image of Christ. In this way, our children come to realise how truly special and valued they are.
Our aims are very clear. We want our children to be happy each day they come to school and to feel safe while they are in our care. We want them to thrive in the learning environment we provide and for them to come to realise that challenge is a stimulus that will enable them to achieve the very best they are capable of. We want our children to grow and develop into caring, thoughtful, responsible young people who have the confidence to realise their dreams and ambitions for the future.
We also want our parents and carers to feel welcome in our school community and for them to both benefit from and contribute to that community. There are many opportunities for parents and carers to become involved in school life such as parent workshops, school trips, art days, class assemblies, weekly awards assemblies and masses. We are lucky to be situated next door to our parish church of St Joseph's and have close links with the parish throughout the year.
We are also extremely fortunate to have wonderful parents who support us to ensure our children benefit from additional funds and activities.
Hopefully you will find all the information you require on the website and in our school prospectus which you will find on the website. If you do have any queries or questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at school.
Kindest regards
Mrs C Marrin
